Production of the Lamborghini Aventador looks set to be slowed by parts supply problems caused by the severe earthquakes that struck Northern Italy last month.
A wide area close to the Lamborghini factory in Sant’Agata was struck by a sequence of earthquakes on 20 May, followed by two large quakes on 29 May.
The quakes caused an estimated 400bn euros of damage to the Emilia-Romagna region and affected more than 600 industrial companies. Rebuilding work in the area is being hampered by small tremors.
Although the factory itself was not damaged, a statement from Lamborghini said ‘some key Lamborghini Aventador suppliers have had to slow down and in some cases relocate production of specific key components’ which may result in ‘potential delivery delays.’
The delay is limited to the Aventador V12 supercar, with production of the Gallardo unaffected.
