Lotus F1's Malaysian test driver Fairuz Fauzy gave the team's T127 its first laps in an official Formula One session at Jerez today.
Fauzy initially ran an installation lap and pitted prior to beginning a longer run, during which he has already narrowly pipped Virgin Racing driver Timo Glock's best effort, although Glock has run very few laps.

Lotus had previously completed a shakedown run at Silverstone before its launch event last week.
Fauzy will remain in the car for the rest of the day before handing over to Heikki Kovalainen for the next two days. Jarno Trulli then has his first run for Lotus on Saturday.
With an hour of the session to run Red Bull's Sebastien Vettel was fastest.
