Renault’s global head of EVs Thierry Koskas has said that the firm may do electric versions of Renaultsport and Alpine models. He revealed that investigations are underway and that there are “some thoughts to do this”, but nothing is confirmed.
“There would be a good benefit in terms of driving behaviour and acceleration,” said Koskas, referencing the instant torque delivery and the possibility of optimising weight distribution.
Renault revealed an electric sports car concept, the DeZir, in 2010 and its lines were later morphed into the Alpine A110-50 concept.
